Four Leaf Sound is a sound project that features a singer songwriter, Tomoko Murabayashi and a producer, yuki kanesaka aka Ukey.

Through two albums released in 2007 ("27") and 2009 ("29"), they succeeded to establish their own style of musical expression, which they call, “poetry soul.” Yuki’s creative and sensitive work of sound and Tomoko’s poetic writing are put together in the styles of Jazz, Hip Hop, Reggae, Down-tempo, and more.

The third track, “is this real?” from the first album, “27,” was on aired on Radio Sakamoto (J-WAVE). And the second track from the same album, “asa715” will be released by Sup Peeps Records (UK) in 2011.

 

 

Tomoko was born and raised in Tsu-city in Mie prefecture, Japan.

She moved to the States in 2000 to study voice performance at the Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA). She soon joined the choir at the local African American church (the Union United Methodist Church), which was directed by Renese King. There she met Jesus Christ as her savior and received Baptism at the Boston Japanese Christian Church. She also studied with Mark Baxter outside of the college. Tomoko was honored for the Berklee Achievement Based Scholarship from 2002 to 2004. She also graduated the college in 2004 with the honor of Cum Laude.

In 2004, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia. While she studied at the Georgia State University (GSU), graduate school for jazz studies, she also studied the Speech Level Singingin the per-certified program for two years. She also sang in various Japanese churches in the Northern and Southern East Coast, California, and Mid West in the United States.

After receiving the Master’s degree in Music at GSU, she moved to Dallas to study at Christ for the Nation Institute (CFNI). While serving in various worship leadings, she also served as a member of the Josiah praise team at the Potter's House.

In 2010, after she graduated from the Advanced Leadership and Pastoral School at CFNI, she received a minister’s license from the CFN Fellowship of Ministers and Churches, and returned to Japan after 10 years of the time in the States.

Tomoko currently serves in the worship team at the Agape International Christian Fellowship in Hirakata, Osaka.
